web+log = blog
web is a more modern word in this context "world wide web" and log seems to be defined how a sailor would keep a log as a diary, or in more modern times a pilot, the common denominator is that a log records the ships or flights course or journey. This may explain the initial choice of "log" in contrast to record, listing, account, book, journal, chart, diary or press. Since this a tool one can use to easily journey in and about the web and relate one personal reflections and perspectives on any given subject; whichever name he has given his "boat" the vehicle i.e. theme and course one is charting for oneself.
Torah and Technology seem as well to come from different eras, Torah translated as the Bible book and study and Technology seems to reflect very advanced and modern tools.
But if you go to their true definitions as the Lubavitcher Rebbe very often points out that the word Torah means Horaah — instruction. Each and every word and verse of Torah gives us instruction; teaching us tools how to live our lives at all times.
Techno- a combining form borrowed from Greek where it meant “art,” “skill,”
-logy- a termination of nouns referring to writing, discourses, collections, etc.:
they are both tools from a written form; the Torah: G-d's Divine Code, and Technology using the binary code, both give us tools enabling us to achieve what we could do on own.
